PNC gets new flagbearer

Hassan Ayariga 02.12 Sunyani (B/A), Feb. 5, GNA – The national delegates congress of the people National Convention (PNC) ended peacefully on Sunday morning with election of Mr. Hassan Ayariga as the party’s new presidential candidate.
Mr. Ayariga, a 40 year-old entrepreneur, obtained 483 votes to beat Dr. Edward Nasigre Mahama, the 2008 presidential candidate of the party, who secured 426 votes.
Dr. Mahama, a gynecologist/obstetrician had been the flagbearer of the PNC since 1992.
